Accessibility
Last updated: June 22, 2026
StormIt is committed to making StormIt usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and screen magnification.
Our target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and to meet our obligations under applicable accessibility law, including Ontario's Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) where it applies to us. Accessibility is an ongoing effort and we work to improve continually.
What we do
- Semantic HTML, labelled form fields, and meaningful alt text for images.
- Keyboard-operable navigation and visible focus.
- A light and dark theme, and responsive layouts that work on small screens.
- Accessibility checks as part of our development process.
Known limitations
Some content — including older articles, interactive worksheets, and embedded third-party material (such as advertising, if enabled) — may not yet fully meet our target. We are working to address these, and we will provide an accessible alternative on request.
Tell us about a barrier, or request an accommodation
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on StormIt, or you need content in an accessible format or another accommodation, please tell us — we want to fix it and will respond as soon as we reasonably can. When you contact us, it helps to include the page or feature, the problem you experienced, and the assistive technology and browser you were using.
Email accessibility@stormit.ca or write to StormIt, [Registered mailing address — set EMAIL_POSTAL_ADDRESS]. We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of StormIt, and we will provide or arrange accessible formats and communication supports on request.
Changes
We may update this statement as we improve. We will post changes here and update the date above.
